Genderqueer

Genderqueer is an umbrella term, but many people still use it to identify themselves specifically, usually if they can't find another term that they feel suits them. Generally, the term means anyone that is outside of the gender binary (male and female). It is similar to nonbinary because of this, but nonbinary is a more specific and accepted term, as the word "queer" can often be used as a transphobic slur.

Genderqueer identities can range from both masculine and feminine, neither, genderfluid, and other genders, and con sometimes be a combination of two or more of these. Because the term is so broad, it's best to ask someone how they personally identify and their pronouns before assuming.

The purple stripe represents a combination of the traditional binary colors,
pink and blue, the white represents agender identities, and the green is the inverse
of purple to represent genders that aren't on the binary spectrum.
