Brendon Urie

Brendon Urie is the lead singer and only member of the band Panic! at the Disco. He was born on April 12, 1984 in Utah, however his family moved to Las Vegas when he was very young. He is the youngest of 5 children, and was raised as a Mormon.

In a Panic! at the Disco song called Girls/Girls/Boys, Brendon gives the impression that he is bisexual. The song came out in 2013, and talked about how girls love both girls and boys. When asked in an interview about his sexuality, Brendon stated that he classifies himself as straight. However, he openly experimented with men early on, and social media often mislabels him as bisexual. Brendon goes on to say tha the doesn't like the use of labels. In a 2013 interview, Brendon stated about Girls/Girls/Boys, "Like every song on the record, the song is very autobiographical. Just very honest and very confessional about exactly how I feel. The biggest summarization of the whole song in general is the lyric 'Love is not a choice,' which I completely believe."

After Brendon stated that "love is not a choice," he was interviewed again and asked about the gay rumors that were now circulating due to his statements. There were also questions raised about his sexuality due to a tweet in which he stated, "Everyone's a little gay." He goes on to say, "I find myself being attracted to dudes all the time. I'm like, 'Wow, that's a beautiful man.' There's no shame in it, that's how I feel." Today Brendon says, "You can classify me as I don't care!" He now seems to accept being called bisexual.

Brendon married Sarah Orzechowski, who is also bisexual, on April 27, 2013. When asked about being married to a woman, he explained that yes, he is attracted to men, but not as much as he is to his beautiful, supporting wife. Sarah is a strong supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and helped Brendon become comfortable with his identity.

Brendon continues to get a lot of love and support for his life choices and beliefs. He continues to write music and produce albums. His 2016 album Death of a Bachelor was his first #1 album! On April 11, 2017, he announced that he would be playing a leading role in the Broadway musical Kinky Boots by Cyndi Lauper.
